"Military Covenant 'worthless', say legal experts by Jason Beattie, Daily Mirror 18/05/2011 The new Military Covenant is “worthless” due to legal aid cuts, experts said yesterday. On Monday Defence Secretary Liam Fox announced the Government will guarantee in law injured soldiers rights such as decent hospital treatment, a council tax rebate and free IVF. Veterans will have the right to sue if they are let down, but the Law Society said plans to cut the legal aid fund by £350million will make it “much harder” to do so.
