Just a reminder to everyone visiting Mylegal that the response to the consultation on Disability Living Allowance reform and implementation of the new Personal Independence Payment is now extended until tomorrow, the 18th February. We'll be posting a copy of the response made by South Hams CAB as soon as we can make it available for download. A record number of responses have already been sent in, but if yours hasn't it's not too late. The consultation is no where near as onerous as the Ministry of Justice one on Legal Aid was. Seems like Government departments are being inundated with responses to these consultations, despite their best efforts to make it difficult for us to respond by short consultation periods. Seems like the government themselves don't know about the extension to the consultation period as Iain Duncan Smith (IDS) appeared on BBC news this morning on his big get tough on those on benefits - he said the consultation had closed - oh no it hasn't IDS! You can find out more using the link.... www.dwp.gov.uk/consultations/2010/dla-reform.shtmlHere's the link to the copy of the response - it's not exactly the same as the one sent due to some formatting problems which have taken out the logos but otherwise the same.
