This video of Helen and Mark was taken by Rick Medlock for Anesis, a homeless charity in CoventryHelen and Mark were two of the people who visited the charity, relying on food handouts in order to survive. They had been coming into town for the food handouts for approximately a year, walking the 12 mile round trip each time Mark explains in the video how much of their difficulty was down to difficulties in establishing entitlement to benefits, particularly for Helen, who he describes as "learning disabled" Both Helen and Mark committed suicide in October this year I can't imagine what must have been going through their minds. Trying to just makes me incredibly angry At its most basic level, it's about humanity. It's about a right to life. If you watch this video then the next time you see one of the pulp headlines about 'benefit scroungers' or 'cheats' remember Helen and Mark This is why we do what we do. This is why I just can't stop fighting
