Nick is not well at the moment after having a suspected heart attack and is being treated to try and determine the problem and the best way of dealing with it

He has been ordered to rest and to keep away from anything stressful or work related until further notice. This includes Mylegal and also the Mylegalforum Twitter account

I've spoken to him and he's as well as can be expected in the circumstances

I'll update here as and when but in the meantime I'm sure you'll join me in wishing Nick well and hope he has a speedy recovery

It's nice to be able to return to a bit of 'therapeutic' posting on Mylegal folks; - although sadly it won't be at the same level as before I became ill. I'd like to say a sincere thank you to the many people who've passed on well wishes through various channels, the post, the phone, by email, via the forum, twitter et all. It just goes to show what a tight knit and very supportive lot we social welfare fanatics are, it's very heart warming and greatly appreciated I can tell you.

I'm still off work and hope to return very soon, I'm not quite free of the NHS and await a cardiac procedure this week; - in an effort to take my mind of what awaits, I thought I'd indulge in a little bit of gentle posting, I miss my time on Mylegal and it's great to see the membership up, twitter followers up and the welfare reform car crash having now hit over 50,000 views; - it makes my efforts on here seem very worthwhile. My apologies to anyone who has sent messages or emails which I may not have answered; - I've been under strict orders to 'take things easy', it's a bit alien to me!

I'd just like to say a few words about our NHS, they've had a right knocking over the last few months, but in my personal experience I cannot praise them enough, the treatment I've had from my local hospital, doctor and initially from paramedics has been absolutely first class and I can't thank them enough; - it would be an outrage to see such a wonderful service cut back any further, long may they continue exactly as they are! I'm minded to write to Mr C and tell him what an effect his beloved reforms are having on us all and how utterly reliant we are on the very good people who fix us up when things go medically wrong.

My convalescence has enabled me to watch some of the parliamentary debates, the recent session in the House of Lord's gave me some encouragement that there may be some prospect of amendments on the disastrous LASPO bill, it's already hitting agencies with a devastating impact; - it's very hard to watch at times. Thanks also to Jman for keeping Mylegal going with some new threads; - your efforts are very much appreciated.

So it's good to be making my way back folks and thanks to my employers for their support, my team for keeping things going in my absence, and to Ilegal Patrick for staying in touch and making sure that I haven't strayed back on to Mylegal too prematurely; - I've been warned any errant late night postings will be subject to curfew and rigidly imposed by blocking my login!
